A “Nafas” of Stitching
A large chunk of my self-exploration journey is participating in workshops that excite the soul, add spice, and keep me in the present moment.
A day back in November 2022 was one of them!
Here’s a short story; As a teenager, I used to spend endless hours playing around with beads, stones, and threads to embellish my clothes (and those of my friends). It used to bring me so much joy. I don’t remember why I stopped, but I did. And what’s worse is that I forgot about that phase in my life, although I used to enjoy it so much!
Seeing a piece transform in between my hands was one of the best feelings, all while connecting with the beautiful ladies in the workshop.
I didn’t want these 2 hours to end.
The stitching and beading workshop at Sarah’s Bag with Nafas, a togetherness initiative by Nour Khoury Jallad, brought back all the beautiful feelings of working with my hands, transforming an item, and mixing & matching a design.
It felt good but scary because it ignited in me an old passion I felt like I let down. But maybe I won’t let it down again. I’m really curious about what’s hidden more on the inside of who I am…
Carrying on, embracing every experience with openness.
Sending you love and power, always!
